Special Session 1: Interpretation, Visualization and Archiving of Intangible Heritage
A special session was held as part of the VSMM 2016 International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia, at Sunway University, in Kuala Lumpur, October 17-21, 2016. This session was organised by DIHA (Digital Intangible Heritage in Asia) in collaboration with NODEM (Nordic Digital Excellence in Museums) and the Centre for Research-Creation in Digital Media (CRCDM). This call invited submissions of abstracts for presentations, papers, posters and demonstrations at the exhibition of the conference.
The aim of this special IVIAH session was to provide a platform for culture heritage researchers, museum curators, digital media specialists, linguists, designers and others in these related industries to present the challenges in their respective fields with a view to promote opportunities for interdisciplinary and inter-sectorial collaboration aligning with the VSMM 2016 theme: “transdisciplinary, transmedia, transformations”. We believe that collaboration at this level will spark major breakthroughs in highlighting awareness of intangible heritage in Asia.
