NODEM 2003 — Sweden

NODEM 2003 was launched during the annual Swedish museums’ week in Helsingborg, March 2003.

Around 90 participants took part in the event, among them museum & gallery professionals, technical developers, fabricators, producers as well as artists from Nordic countries. The aim was to initiate a first meeting between Nordic museums, in order to develop a professional forum for continued exchange of experiences in the field.

The programme consisted of presentations of Nordic projects where new media has been used to enhance interpretation and communication with audiences. Approximately 50 Nordic projects had been submitted, from arts, to cultural history, to science and natural history.

The event also consisted of presentations of current ICT solutions, for musuems and galleries, a tomorow’s projects session and a panel discussion with invited Nordic and International guests. Presentation of the NODEM award for best digital museum applications 2003 concluded the event.
